Print filenames listed in a folder?
Last newsletter, Infopackets Reader Brad B. asked if there was a way to import and print a list of filenames contained in a folder using an MS DOS command. Since then, I have received a number of comments from Readers with alternative solutions.
Infopackets Reader Sam T. writes:
" In your newsletter dated Feb 4, 2004, a reader (Brad B.) was looking for a program that would print the contents of a directory. There is a fabulous freebie program that does the job and it runs in Windows instead of a command line interface. The program name is called LS - File List Generator and I have found it to be invaluable. Maybe you can pass it on to him. PS: Thanks for your great newsletter. "

And, Infopackets Reader John B. sent in another solution:
" Several years ago, I found a great free directory print program for Windows. I've used it on 95, 98, NT, 2000, and XP. [The program is called Karen's Directory Printer. Your readers may find this utility useful]. "

I also stumbled across a freeware program called 'PrintDir'. From the Widgetech web site:
" The Widget Print Directory will print all of the contents of a selected directory, sub-directories, and its contents. Choose from 16 different formatting options like: Full path name or just the file name; Created time; Last access time; Last written to time; File size in bytes or kilobytes. Date formatting options and many more. Program gives the ability to print the listing or saving the listing as a tab or comma delimited file so that it can be opened by Excel. "

Thanks for the suggestions!
