Qantas, LinkedIn Sites Knocked Offline by Odd Bug

Several major websites were briefly knocked offline this past weekend by a quirk in the calendar: a 'leap second' -- the rare additional tick added worldwide to clocks that fixes a natural flaw in our time-keeping systems. Nowadays, we take most of our time signals from an atomic clock, which measures the vibrations of atoms in a metal called cesium so accurately that a one second error is nearly as ... (view more)

The dictionary is a very helpful feature in Word 2007. It will help make sure you have not misspelled words in your document. You cannot, of course, completely rely on the dictionary because it only checks for spelling and not content. The ... dictionary does have features that some see as a downside. If the dictionary does not recognize a word, it will highlight that word with a wavy red underline. Some folks find this to be a distraction. Because the dictionary in MS Word is not complete, it may underline words occasionally that are, in fact, correct. To use MS Word's dictionary feature to its ... (view more)

Add Autonumbering to your MS Excel Spreadsheet

Autonumbering will advance your numbered rows and keep them current, even if you should delete or add a row. Adding Times in MS Excel

You can add times in MS Excel using the =SUM worksheet function. All you have to do is enter all of your times as HH:MM:SS, and then use SUM to add them. You may omit the :SS if you like. By default, Excel will display the sum of times in ... time-of-day format, such that adding 12:30 + 12:45 will give you a total of 01:15. You can prevent MS Excel from rolling over at twenty-four hours by formatting the total cell as [h] :SUM, which will cause the total to display as 25:15 rather than 01:15. Another way of adding times is to use the TIME function. Follow along below: To add 2 hours, 30 minutes ... (view more)
