From your Friends at Google
I've only been awake for a few hours, and the day just keeps getting better.
At around 10 o'clock in the morning, UPS delivered my 24" LCD Flat Screen monitor (model 2405FPW) direct from Dell Canada. I've been waiting -- and waiting! -- for it to go on sale. And it was by a complete stroke of luck that I happened to see it at 20% off the retail price! I saved almost $300! I couldn't have been happier than a pig wallowing in its own poop.
And if that wasn't a good enough reason to leap out of bed on a cold winter's day, a DHL courier showed up at my door a few hours later with another package.
"Ah, the mystery package," I said. "I have no idea who this is from?"
It was only last night that I received a call from DHL dispatch who claimed that a delivery truck had been to my door earlier that day but "no one was home."
After signing for the package, I walked over to the kitchen, grabbed a sharp knife, and cut it open. To my surprise, there was a small white box inside. The box was labeled with the greeting, "From your Friends at Google."
What? Google sent me a Christmas present -- just for being an Adsense affiliate?
How nice!
I opened up the white cardboard box and inside was a leather carrying case (about the size of a manicure kit).
Now I was really stumped.
I unzipped the leather case and inside was the biggest surprise of all: a mini optical mouse, a 64 megabyte memory key, a 4-port mini USB port, a USB lamp for my laptop -- and all of it was branded with the Google logo.
Well, that sure made my day.
Thanks, Google!
Side note: At the time of writing this, it appears that the Dell 2405FPW monitor is now on sale for 25% off. Note that this is from Dell *Canada* and the prices are in Canadian dollars.
