Someone Threatening to Post Video, Pics? Here's What to Do

Infopackets Reader Franco I. writes: " Dear Dennis, Please help - someone is threatening to share a video of me (in the buff) on Facebook! A few days ago, I met a girl on Omegle (a chat website). We had lots of shared interests and seemed to hit it ... off pretty good. After some back and forth, things escalated to the point where she started sharing pictures of herself scantily dressed. She asked for my phone number, then wanted to do a video call using Google Chat . As soon as I answered, she was already unclothed with toys in hand. She claimed her microphone was broken, so I never got to ... (view more)

Mac Vulnerabilities Increase Five-Fold in 2010

With the Windows family still allowing Microsoft to enjoy the lion's share of the OS market, rival companies are forever left to jockey for second place. While the goal for these companies is to one day surpass Windows in popularity, there has ... always been one benefit in playing "second fiddle" to Microsoft: hackers tend follow user demographics. This means that Windows is as much a popular choice for malware attacks as it is for consumers. Such is true for Apple, who listed only 34 known vulnerabilities within the Mac OS family back in 2009. While even one vulnerability should be cause for ... (view more)

MS Cancels Family Guy: 'Not Fit for Windows Brand'

Despite attempts to make itself 'cool' again alongside tacky launch parties for the new Win7 operating system, Microsoft is looking a bit silly this morning after it announced it would cancel a joint television project with Family Guy creator Seth ... MacFarlane. Family Guy is an animated tongue-in-cheek comedy that is known for saying the things some of us think to ourselves but rarely have the courage to say. It insults just about any ethnic, racial, gender, or nationalist group on a week-by-week basis. Microsoft: Show Too Controversial That's part of the reason it's so popular, which is ... (view more)

Apparently, throwing a Windows 7 party in honor of the new Microsoft operating system is not enough. The Fox network has recently announced an exclusive one-night partnership with Microsoft featuring the ever-controversial grown-up cartoon, "Family ... Guy". The idea for the partnership was instigated by Microsoft in the hopes of generating more interest in Windows 7. Special to Air in November The partnership will not be evident during the 9 p.m. Family Guy timeslot, however. Rather, a special half-hour television special, with the working title "Family Guy Presents: Seth and Alex's ... (view more)

I am Kong Zulu, son of the assassinated Dr. Zulu of Castle Montabon!

It's time to vent. I'm getting so sick and tired of reading these goofy emails from spammers who claim they are either a Prince or a Doctor that needs to transfer 25 million dollars into a "US-only bank account." And of course, having such high ... credentials as they do, they need MY help to do the transfer. Yeah, plain boring me. I'm just wondering -- does anybody actually fall for this stuff? It's funny to read some of the variations to this genre of chain-letter email. I just received one not too long ago and it had such a hilarious story line, I put it aside and decided to share it ... (view more)
