Microsoft to Double Bing Cashback Rewards
After experimenting with the "Cashback" concept for its new search engine Bing, not only does Microsoft intend on continuing with the program, the company will now offer double the cashback rewards.
When Microsoft first released Bing, discount shoppers rejoiced at the thought of reclaiming a portion of their online retailing expenses thanks to the "Cashback" promotion launched in conjunction with the new "decision engine".
The Cashback idea offers loyal users financial incentives for making purchases with advertising retailers found through Bing. Yes, Microsoft will actually refund a portion of your expenses after clicking and purchasing goods and services obtained through a sponsored link.
Double the Cashback Rewards
While many would be right to question such a marketing campaign (considering the large volume of other dubious offers out there) many Cashback consumers have used the service with good results.
To participate in the Cashback promotion, visit bing.com. Scroll over to the "extras" tab in the upper-right corner of the screen and click "Cashback". You must invest some time in linking a new Cashback account with your Windows Live ID, but once all necessary procedures are completed, return to the main page of bing.com and commence shopping. Another bonus is that consumers will not have to trial-and-error their way through finding Cashback-friendly online retailers. Microsoft has done a great job in compiling a comprehensive list which can be accessed by visiting bing.com/cashback and clicking on the "cashback stores" button on the left-hand side of the page.
In addition to receiving the names of all the online retailing stores, the list also provides information on the discount percentages you can expect on your items at each store.
The following is a list of online retailers that offer some of the highest Cashback refunds:
- DiscountShoes.com-- 50%
- Eastbay-- 50% F
- TD Flowers-- 40-50%
- SurplusMags-- 40%
- Foot Locker-- 40%
- SKECHERS USA-- 32%
Savings Not Instant
Of course, there is always a catch. The discount comes in the form of a refund check Microsoft sends you days after the actual purchase date. Many people purchase goods and services expecting an instant discount upon payment. (Source: cio.com)
Microsoft suggests that consumers consult the list of "cashback stores" often, as new retailers are added on a regular basis.
