PowerPoint Slide Master
If you are fairly new to PowerPoint or even if you have been using this software for quite a while now, a lot of you are most likely not very familiar with the Slide Master. Oh, you've probably heard of it, but aren't quite sure what it is or what it does, so you haven't really fiddled with it much.
Well I am going to answer those questions so that you can start using the Slide Master and see how it simplifies your life when creating presentations and slide shows!
The Slide Master in MS PowerPoint is an integral part of your design template and it stores information about font, background colors, graphics, etc. Once you set one of these formats in your Slide Master, it will automatically affect the rest of the slides contained in your presentation.
How does the Slide Master make your life easier? I will tell you!
Once your presentation is complete and you decide to change the font, bullet style or background picture for the entire presentation, it makes a whole lot more sense to do one-stop shopping doesn't it? You're darn tootin it does! It beats the heck out of changing each and every slide manually doesn't it? You make your changes to the Slide Master and you are finished!
Now that you know how to use the Slide Master and how it can make your life so much simpler, I will tell you where to find it.
- Click on View | Master | Slide Master.
- You will notice that the Slide Master toolbar will also appear.
- You can now add your company's name in the footer, page numbers, the date, whatever you like.
- Once you have set your formatting, header, footer, etc., simply click on Close Master View.
You are now back in your normal view and you have just saved yourself a whole lot of time! What is my mantra? Yes! Save time and keystrokes!!
