Must-have Win7 Keyboard Shortcuts from Win7 RC1

With the Windows 7 release date vastly approaching, plenty of folks can't wait to get their hands dirty with all the latest tips time-saving tricks. In fact, The recent Win7 RC1 version of Windows 7 has revealed that Microsoft includes a couple of useful keyboard shortcuts.

Windows Button: Key to Interesting Functions

The source of the shortcuts lies in the "Windows" key. Pushing this key along with another one produces simple, yet time-saving and frustration-free functions that make the entire operating system experience more enjoyable.

The combination of the Windows key + the Home key minimizes all of windows except the one currently in use. This saves the user a great deal of unnecessary hassle when having to go back and close the other windows one-by-one. If the user pushes this combination a second time, all closed windows will reappear as before. (Source: pcworld.com)

The Windows key + Space Bar is a rather neat combo. It makes all windows transparent, meaning that the user can see through the windows and right to the desktop.

Picture-In-Picture for the Computer

Want to keep your current window active, but need it out of the way for a few seconds while you check on something else? Hit the Windows key + Right or Left arrow to move the active window to the right or the left of your screen. Think of it as moving a picture-in-picture screen across your computer.

When striking the Windows key + (+/-), a feature kicks in allowing you to zoom in or out of your active window. Lastly, Windows key + P activates the Windows presentation settings so that the current settings are displayed and can be adjusted. (Source: washingtonpost.com)

While all of these combinations seem pretty neat, it is important to remember that these are only the mysteries already uncovered with Windows 7 RC1. We can't wait to see what other hidden gems become available once the full version is released to the public!
