'Sandboxie', and 'Scanmetender'
Sandboxie
Run programs, web browsers, and applications -- safely -- inside an isolated environment so they can't affect your system. How does it work? Think of your PC as a piece of paper. Every program run on your system writes on the paper. When you run your browser, it writes on the paper about every site you visited. And any malware you come across will usually try to write itself into the paper. Traditional privacy and anti-malware software try to locate and erase any writings they think you wouldn't want on that paper. Most of the times they get it right. But first the antispyware makers must know what to look for on the paper, and also how to erase it safely. On the other hand, the Sandboxie sandbox program works like a transparency layer placed over the paper (remember those overheads in school?). Programs write on the transparency layer and to them it looks like the real paper. When you delete the sandbox, it's like removing the transparency layer, and the unchanged, real paper is revealed.
Scanmetender
Usually a network scanner is only able to scan a single or multiple port range on an IP address. But Scanmetender Standard is not only able to scan ports, but is also to close them! You do not need any extra tools like your firewall to close ports on a computer -- Scanmetender Standard will do it for you! But for all the users who do not want to use the integrated firewall of Scanmetender Standard there is also a firewall configuration file, which shows you how to close ports in the most popular firewalls.
